We are incredibly grateful for the overwhelming support shown at Dash of the Derg 2025. This year’s event was a resounding success, blessed with beautiful weather, a fantastic turnout of 218 participants, and an atmosphere filled with camaraderie, fun, and connection.

Dash of the Derg 2024 – A Great Success
On September 20th, the Irish electrical industry came together for the first-ever “Dash of the Derg”, a cycling event held around the breathtaking Lough Derg. Approximately 200 cyclists, representing various companies in the electrical sector, took part in this fantastic event, all in support of the Irish Electrical Benevolent Association (IEBA). With sunny skies and perfect conditions, the day was set for success from the start.
Jimmy Whan – Receives a Lifetime Achievement Award
Leading lights and bright sparks from Ireland’s electrical industry were recognised at a gala evening held in Clontarf Castle, Dublin on June 14.
Celebrating excellence and innovation among individuals and companies of all sizes, Ireland’s Electrical Awards 2024 welcomed the industry’s finest for a drinks reception, three-course meal with wine, entertainment, networking and fun.
AEW Awards
Our President and Deputy Chairman of the IEBA, Cel O’Reilly & Dan Fisher, were invited to speak at the AEW Awards in Clayton Hotel in Liffey Valley on the 8th of May 2024.
The Association of Electrical Wholesalers (AEW) Awards lunch acknowledges the work of the member wholesalers within the group whose recycling and training accomplishments set them apart from others within their industry.
IEBA Golf Day 2024 – Killeen Castle
The IEBA golf day in Killeen Castle on Friday 26th April took place on a bright and sunny (if somewhat chilly) day. Eighty players teed up in teams of four to compete for the annual team trophy and other great prizes. After some great golf on a top-quality course, the following winners emerged:

IEBA Munster Golf Day 2024 – Lee Valley Golf & Country Club
The Cork branch of The Irish Benevolent Association held our annual Golf fund raising day in the beautiful Lee Valley Golf & Country club on the 24th of April 2024.
We had sixty players playing on the day and it was a great success, we were blessed with gorgeous sunshine!
Joseph Whittle running the Great Limerick Run Marathon
Schneider Electric’s Customer Project Execution Manager, Joseph Whittle, will be running the Great Limerick Run Marathon on May 5th in aid of the IEBA. We are very grateful to Josephs commitment to raising funds for the charity.
